It’s been a week since Debian released the latest iteration of their rock solid, super free Operating System - Debian 12. Codenamed “Bookworm”, it’s now on digital shelves all across the world for you to enjoy.

For the most part, it’s the same Debian we know and love, with the usual KDE\Gnone upgrades, but there is one key item worth mentioning.

non-free-firmware is now a thing

After years of failed installs due to missing drivers and other issues, Debian now has a new repo called non-free-firmware, designed to make installations more reliable. This repo can be enabled without the need to enable other non-free repos.
