There are still signs of growing pains when Scully goes alone on a case, and manages to almost become the second coming of Christ when she gets kidnapped by an entire town.

After stopping at a little village to investigate a murder… they don’t seem to want to let her leave. Not able to contact Doggett, she helps the one wounded person in the town who turns out to be in on it all. The village people seem to think that some crazy slug like creature is the second coming of Jesus and implant it into Scully’s back where it attempts to move into her brain.

Doggett does some good old fashioned detective work and locates the village, knocks out the lead dude and cuts a rather large slug with 3 tentacles out of Scully’s neck. They then walk off to safety. Later in the hospital, Scully apologies to Doggett for ‘going alone’, he confirms she screwed up and that he appreciates her apology.

Another stepping stone in their professional relationship. Even though the slug dies, the entire town walks free. Another X-File the pair fail to solve!
